I don’t listen to current pop music very often, but when I do, there’s always a song or two that becomes my guilty pleasure tune.
My latest of such is “Havana” by Camila Cabello, and I knew I had to adapt it when I began randomly singing different words along to it. That is how “Banana, Ooh Na Na” came to be, and it is probably my favorite adaptation I’ve ever done :)
Yes, this song is mostly for fun, but I snuck in quite a bit of information about bananas…which makes it count as educational, right?!
I’m using this song in my upcoming class session along with banana shakers, and I can’t wait to see what my kiddos (and their adults) think. My hope is that it inspires them to shake their shakers with enthusiasm, dance along, and sing with me (because it’s kind of hard NOT to sing this one).
