Safety Comes First

Description

Safety always comes first, and it’s so important to teach this to children. “Safety Comes First” is all about the safety measures we need to take around cars and when crossing the street. Remember to look both ways and walk, don’t run!

“Safety Comes First” provides opportunities to address these objectives:

• Increase safety awareness
• Improve safety skills around cars
• Increase verbalization (see adaptations)

Brainstorm other safety strategies with children, and use those ideas to write additional verses to the song. You may also further encourage safety awareness by creating a personalized social story based on the song.
