Description
We all learn about prepositions at one point or another, but they can be tricky to understand! Four of the most common ones are used in this song: “Under, Over, In & Out”.
Something to keep in mind when teaching prepositions: words can only go so far! Be sure to demonstrate the preposition during and after each verse!
“Under, Over, In & Out” provides opportunities to address these objectives:
- Increase discrimination of over, under, in, and out
- Improve ability to follow directions
- Increase directional awareness
- Increase fine motor movement
Use a physical object such as a box or bag as a reference. Then demonstrate each direction in relationship to the object. Give participant(s) an opportunity to do so, as well!
