Description

The cabasa is one of few instruments for which I’ve written only a couple of songs — until now! I find myself reaching for this instrument in classes and music therapy sessions often, and I wanted to vary my repertoire so that I’m not always using the same tunes along with it.

“Cabasa Cha Cha Cha” was a fun song to write, but it’s even more fun to play and sing! This song encourages participant in the form of playing the instrument AND singing along; the lyrics target the “ch” letter blend (as you might have guessed from the title).

How do you use the cabasa in practice? No matter what goals you’re addressing with this piece of percussion, I hope “Cabasa Cha Cha Cha” will come in handy.
