Description
This spring in the midst of providing weekly livestream music classes, I had a special request from a child for a pirate-themed song. Since I didn’t have any in my repertoire, coupled with the fact that my daughter’s preschool class is nicknamed the “Pre-K Pirates”, I knew I had to write one!
I created this greeting song that is chock-full of pirate phrases and references, and it’s been a hit in my livestream classes as well as in my own house.
“Ahoy, Mateys!” provides opportunities to address these objectives:
- Improve greeting skills
- Increase feelings of bonding and group cohesion
- Improve communication
Next on my list: a pirate-themed goodbye song to round out my classes and sessions. In the meantime, I hope this song has you and your kiddos saying “yo ho ho”!
