Let me introduce you to a guy I know, “Jingle Joe”! Jingle Joe loves to play the tambourine! Jingle Joe and his friend, Jingle Stu, will teach us many different way to play this instrument. Play along with Jingle Joe and Jingle Stu — they’ll show you what to do!
“Jingle Joe” provides opportunities to address these objectives:
- Improve fine and gross motor skills
- Increase ability to follow directions
- Increase ability to identify body parts
- Increase directional awareness
We will tap the tambourine on our hand and thigh. Then, let’s play up high, down low, fast, and slow. Can you think of other ways to play our instrument? Add additional lyrics to target more specific skills, such as shaking in ways that require crossing midline or shaking on additional body parts.
